This is heightened by the garnishing of finely chopped fresh ramps and a side of rustic bread, forming an artistic palette of rustic browns against verdant greens.

  3. Step 3 - 🥬🍷🍳
To the same pan, add the thinly sliced ramp bulbs and stems, sauté until fragrant. Add a 1/2 cup of red wine to the pan and scrape up any bits stuck to the pan. Pour this mixture over the lamb shanks in the slow cooker.

Additional

This sumptuous dish is surprisingly simple to prepare, making it a great recipe for cooking with kids. Have them help to clean the ramps, ensuring they wash them thoroughly before chopping. You can also substitute beef shanks or short ribs in place of the lamb, if preferred.
