This Mediterranean-inspired smoothie is a nutritional powerhouse, featuring the nutrient-rich chard, and infused with refreshing citrus flavors. Itβs the perfect invigorating recipe for a brisk, windy day.
Ingredients (for 2)
- Chard large leaves - 2 - rinsed and torn
- Blood orange - 1 large - juiced
- Lemon - 1 - juiced
- Plain coconut yoghurt - 1 cup
- Banana - 1 large - frozen
- Honey or agave syrup - 2 tablespoons
- Chia seeds - 1 tablespoon - for garnish
- Mint sprigs - few - for garnish

Step 1 - π₯¬ππThoroughly wash the chard leaves, tear them into small pieces. Slice and juice the blood orange and lemon. Slice the banana and freeze it. Set aside honey/agave syrup, chia seeds, and mint sprigs for garnish.

Step 2 - π₯¬ππππ₯₯π₯π―Combine the chard leaves, blood orange juice, lemon juice, frozen banana, and coconut yoghurt in a blender. Add honey or agave syrup for sweetness.

Step 3 - πBlend all ingredients until the texture is smooth.

Step 4 - π₯€ππ±Pour the smoothie into two glasses. Garnish with chia seeds, a slice of blood orange, and a sprig of mint.
Additional
This smoothie is high in vitamin C and other antioxidants. You can replace chard with other leafy greens like spinach or kale. Feel free to add a scoop of your favorite plant-based protein powder for an extra boost of protein.
