Mastiha Cucumber Cocktail

This refreshing cocktail is inspired by Greek flavors and features seasonal ingredients such as cucumbers and herbs. The star of the show is Mastiha, a unique liqueur made from the resin of the Mastiha tree which is native to the Greek island of Chios. Mix it up and transport yourself to a Greek island getaway.
Ingredients (for 2)
- Mastiha liqueur - 2 oz
- Fresh lime juice - 1 1/2 oz
- English cucumber - 4 slices - muddled
- Agave nectar - 1 oz
- Mint leaves - 6-8
- Ice -
- Sparkling water -
- Cucumber slices - - for garnish
- Mint sprigs - - for garnish
Preparation

Step 1 - π₯π±π§In a cocktail shaker, muddle cucumber slices with mint leaves.

Step 2 - πΈππ―π§Add Mastiha liqueur, lime juice, agave nectar and ice to the shaker.

Step 3 - π€πΈπ₯Shake the cocktail vigorously for 15 seconds.

Step 4 - πΉπΈπ₯€Using a strainer, pour the cocktail into two highball glasses filled with ice.

Step 5 - ππ₯€πTop each glass with sparkling water and stir.

Step 6 - ππ₯π±Garnish each glass with cucumber slices and mint sprigs.
Additional
For a non-alcoholic version of this cocktail, simply omit the Mastiha liqueur and add more sparkling water. You can also experiment with different herbs like basil or thyme instead of mint.
