This festive holiday meal is inspired by the magic of a New York City Christmas Eve. A traditional turkey is the star of the show, with an apple-cranberry glaze adding a sweet and tart twist. To beautifully accompany it, we're preparing red wine braised carrots and heavenly Hasselback potatoes.

- Small turkey - around 5 pounds - none

- Baby carrots - 1 lb - none
- Bottle of red wine - 1 bottle - none
- Medium-sized russet potatoes - 4 - none
- Stick of unsalted butter - 1 stick - melted
- Fresh parsley - for garnish - none
- Fresh thyme - for garnish - none
- Salt - to taste - none
- Pepper - to taste - none
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons - none
Preparation

Step 1 - π₯π¦π§Preheat the oven to 375Β°F. Season the turkey generously with salt and pepper.

Step 2 - ππ₯£π―In a bowl, whisk together the apple juice, cranberry sauce, and brown sugar. Use this mixture to glaze the turkey.

Step 3 - π¦ππ₯Place the turkey in the oven and cook for around 2 hours, basting frequently with the glaze.

Step 4 - π₯π·π₯Heat olive oil over medium heat, add the carrots. Once slightly caramelized add the red wine, cover, and simmer until the carrots are tender and the wine has reduced to a thick sauce.

Step 5 - π₯π§π΄Make thin slices along the width of the potatoes but not all the way through. Drizzle the cut potatoes with melted butter, season with salt and pepper, and roast in the oven for about 45 minutes until crispy.

Step 6 - π½οΈπΏπServe the turkey, carrots, and potatoes together on a platter, garnishing with fresh parsley and thyme.
