This Halloween, bring a touch of playful spookiness to your table with our delightfully eerie 'Graveyard Chocolate Mousse'. This dessert is prepared with rich dark chocolate, whipped cream, and decorated with spooktacular cookie gravestones and tomb toppings.
Ingredients (for 4)
- Dark chocolate - 200g - finely chopped
- Heavy cream - 400ml, divided into 300ml and 100ml
- Sugar - 100g
- Vanilla extract - 2 teaspoons
- Egg yolks - 3
- Cookies in the shape of gravestones - 8
- Oreo cookies - 4 - crushed
- Miniature candy pumpkins - 12
Preparation

Step 1 - π₯£π«π₯In a heatproof bowl, combine 200g of finely chopped dark chocolate and 100ml heavy cream. Place it over a simmering saucepan of water and stir occasionally until you get a smooth mixture.

Step 2 - π₯ππ₯In a separate bowl, combine 100g sugar, 3 egg yolks and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract. Heat it over the same simmering saucepan, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.

Step 3 - π«π₯π₯£Combine the melted chocolate cream and the thickened egg yolk mixture together. Let it cool completely.

Step 4 - πΆπΆπ₯’Take the remaining 300ml cream and whip it until soft peaks form.

Step 5 - π₯£π¦π₯Stir a third of the whipped cream into the chocolate and egg yolk combination. Once well combined, fold it gently into the remaining cream until no white streaks remain.

Step 6 - π₯π¨βοΈSpoon the completed mousse into individual serving bowls and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Step 7 - πͺππ¨When ready to serve, stick 8 cookie gravestones into the mousse, sprinkle 4 crushed Oreo cookies to mimic dirt, and place 12 mini candy pumpkins around.
