Ingredients (for 4)

  • Dark chocolate200gfinely chopped
  • Heavy cream400ml, divided into 300ml and 100ml
  • Sugar100g
  • Vanilla extract2 teaspoons
  • Egg yolks3
  • Cookies in the shape of gravestones8
  • Oreo cookies4crushed
  • Miniature candy pumpkins12

Preparation

  1. Step 1 — 🥣🍫🔥
    In a heatproof bowl, combine 200g of finely chopped dark chocolate and 100ml heavy cream. Place it over a simmering saucepan of water and stir occasionally until you get a smooth mixture.
  2. Step 2 — 🥚🍚🔥
    In a separate bowl, combine 100g sugar, 3 egg yolks and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract. Heat it over the same simmering saucepan, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
  3. Step 3 — 🍫🥚🥣
    Combine the melted chocolate cream and the thickened egg yolk mixture together. Let it cool completely.
  4. Step 4 — 🍶🍶🥢
    Take the remaining 300ml cream and whip it until soft peaks form.
  5. Step 5 — 🥣🍦🥄
    Stir a third of the whipped cream into the chocolate and egg yolk combination. Once well combined, fold it gently into the remaining cream until no white streaks remain.
  6. Step 6 — 🥄🍨❄️
    Spoon the completed mousse into individual serving bowls and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  7. Step 7 — 🍪🎃🍨
    When ready to serve, stick 8 cookie gravestones into the mousse, sprinkle 4 crushed Oreo cookies to mimic dirt, and place 12 mini candy pumpkins around.
