- Heavy cream - 0.84 cup - none
- Sugar - 1.76 ounces - none
- Ready-rolled pie crust - 1 - none
- Egg - 1 - whisked
- Mixed nuts - 5.29 ounces - chopped
- Mixed berries - 5.29 ounces - none
- Edible gold leaf or gold dust - a handful - none
- Vegetable oil - 1 teaspoon - none
- Salt - a pinch - none
Preparation
-
Step 1 - 🌡️🔥⏲️Preheat your oven to 350F (180C).
-
Step 2 - 🥧🍴🔪Unroll the pie crust into a 9-inch tart pan, trim excess dough. Use a fork to prick holes across the bottom, then line the crust with baking paper and fill it with baking beans or pie weights.
-
Step 3 - 🥧🍳🔥Bake the crust for 15 minutes, then remove the tart pan from the oven, carefully lift out the paper and beans. Brush the base and sides with the whisked egg, then return to the oven for another 10-15 minutes until the crust is golden.
-
Step 4 - 🍫🥣🔥For the chocolate filling, place chopped chocolate in a large bowl. In a small saucepan, heat the cream, sugar, and salt over medium heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves.
-
Step 5 - 🥛🥣🍫Pour the cream mixture over the chocolate, leave for a minute, then stir until smooth.
-
Step 6 - 🍫🥣🥧Pour the chocolate mixture into your baked crust smoothing over any unevenness.
-
Step 7 - 🥧🧊⏲️Place the tart in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours to firm up.
-
Step 8 - 🥜🍓✨Once the chocolate tart has set, scatter the chopped nuts and mixed berries over the top and finally, dust with edible gold leaf or gold dust for that extra New Year sparkle.
-
Step 9 - 🥧🧊🍽️Leave the tart in the refrigerator until serving.
