Ingredients (for 4)
- Rosemary sprigs - 4 - fresh, strip the leaves
- Chicken - 1 Β½ lb - boneless, cut into bite-sized pieces
- Soy sauce - Β½ cup
- Sake - 3 tablespoons
- Mirin - 3 tablespoons
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic cloves - 2 - minced
- Green onions - 4 - cut into 1-inch pieces
- Vegetable oil - as needed
- Salt - to taste
Preparation

Step 1 - πΏπ²π¦Combine soy sauce, sake, mirin, sugar, minced garlic, and rosemary leaves in a saucepan. Simmer until the sugar dissolves and the sauce thickens slightly.

Step 2 - ππ₯£β²οΈToss the cut chicken pieces in half the sauce and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Step 3 - π₯π’π²Preheat your grill to a medium heat. Thread the marinated chicken and green onions onto skewers, alternating between them.

Step 4 - π’π₯π‘οΈLightly oil the grill grid. Place skewers on the grill. Cook by turning frequently and brushing with the remaining sauce, until chicken is nicely charred and fully cooked, about 15-20 minutes.

Traditionally, 'Yakitori' is a Japanese style skewered chicken, but don't be afraid to get creative with the recipe, perhaps by adding vegetables, like bell peppers or mushrooms, to the skewers for added texture and flavor.
