Tiramisu Affogato Martini

Truly embodying the spirit of National Coffee Day, this recipe respects the ebbs and flow of life symbolized by coffee. From the energy-boosting aroma of caffeine in the morning, to indulgent after-dinner coffee desserts, coffee has always been our round-the-clock companion. Our featured recipe today is the 'Tiramisu Affogato Martini', an invigorating twist to the classic Italian dessert and after-dinner coffee. Its main ingredients are richly brewed espresso and creamy mascarpone cheese.
Ingredients (for 2)
- Espresso shots - 2 shots - brewed and cooled
- Mascarpone cheese - 1/2 cup - whipped
- Heavy cream - 1/4 cup - chilled
- Sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Ladyfingers - 4 pieces - dipped in coffee and crushed
- Coffee liqueur - 2 oz
- Cocoa powder - - for dusting
- Ice cubes - handful
- Biscotti - 2 pieces - for garnish
Preparation

Step 1 - π§π₯πIn a large bowl, whip together the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla until well combined.

Step 2 - πΈβπͺFill two martini glasses halfway with the crushed, coffee-dipped ladyfingers.

Step 3 - π§π₯πPour the whipped mascarpone mix over the ladyfingers till the glass is 3/4ths full.

Step 4 - βπ₯βοΈIn a shaker, mix together the espresso, coffee liqueur and ice cubes. Shake well.

Step 5 - βπΈπStrain and pour the chilled espresso mix over the mascarpone layer in the martini glasses.

Step 6 - π«π₯πDust the top with a generous sprinkling of cocoa powder.

Step 7 - πͺπΈπGarnish each glass with a biscotti before serving immediately.
Additional
For a non-alcoholic version, skip the coffee liqueur. Finely chopped dark chocolate can also be added for an extra crunch and chocolatey flavor. This dessert is a fun, interactive way for kids to celebrate Coffee Day by helping out with the layering and dusting!
