Nothing screams Oktoberfest like a good, juicy Bratwurst, but let's give it a fabulous twist. With aromatic Bratwurst, sweet apples, and tangy sauerkraut in a savory beer broth, our Iconic Oktoberfest Apple and Bratwurst Stew is a feast for the senses.
Ingredients (for 4)
- Bratwurst sausages — 4 — thickly sliced
- Apples — 2 — peeled, cored and diced
- German beer — 1 bottle (330 ml)
- Sauerkraut — 2 cups — drained
- Chicken broth — 2 cups
- Onion — 1 large — diced
- Garlic cloves — 2 — minced
- Celery leaves — for garnish
- Canola oil — 2 tablespoons
- Salt — to taste
- Pepper — to taste
Preparation

Step 1 — 🍳🌭🔥In a large pot, heat 1 tablespoon of Canola oil over medium heat. Add thickly sliced Bratwurst sausages and cook until browned. Remove from the pot.

Step 2 — 🍳🧅🔥In the same pot, add another tablespoon of oil. Add a large diced onion and two minced garlic cloves. Cook until the onions are translucent.

Step 3 — 🍳🍏🧂Put the peeled, cored and diced apples to the pot. Cook until they are slightly softened. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

Step 4 — 🍺🍲🥣Pour in the bottle of German beer and 2 cups of chicken broth. Add 2 cups of drained Sauerkraut and the browned Bratwurst sausages. Stir to combine.
