Nothing screams Oktoberfest like a good, juicy Bratwurst, but let's give it a fabulous twist. With aromatic Bratwurst, sweet apples, and tangy sauerkraut in a savory beer broth, our Iconic Oktoberfest Apple and Bratwurst Stew is a feast for the senses.
Ingredients (for 4)
- Bratwurst sausages - 4 - thickly sliced
- Apples - 2 - peeled, cored and diced
- German beer - 1 bottle (330 ml)
- Sauerkraut - 2 cups - drained
- Chicken broth - 2 cups
- Onion - 1 large - diced
- Garlic cloves - 2 - minced
- Celery leaves - for garnish
- Canola oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Pepper - to taste
Preparation

Step 1 - π³ππ₯In a large pot, heat 1 tablespoon of Canola oil over medium heat. Add thickly sliced Bratwurst sausages and cook until browned. Remove from the pot.

Step 2 - π³π§ π₯In the same pot, add another tablespoon of oil. Add a large diced onion and two minced garlic cloves. Cook until the onions are translucent.

Step 3 - π³ππ§Put the peeled, cored and diced apples to the pot. Cook until they are slightly softened. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

Step 4 - πΊπ²π₯£Pour in the bottle of German beer and 2 cups of chicken broth. Add 2 cups of drained Sauerkraut and the browned Bratwurst sausages. Stir to combine.

Step 5 - π₯π§β²οΈBring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
